Robin's Pincushion Gall on Rose Bush Leaves

Description

Created by the tiny gall wasp, this fuzzy red growth on leaves of a rose bush is called Robin's Pincushion Gall. It is the home for the larvae of the gall wasp. I photographed two on a feral rose bush plant along the path at a golf course in the Grey Bruce region of Ontario, Canada.
