Chinook Salmon Dead in River After Spawning

Description

Every Fall, the Chinook salmon make their way from Georgian Bay up the Sydenham river in Owen Sound, to their spawning grounds.

Watching these incredible fish persist in their difficult journey over small the rocks and rapids against the rushing water in the river, is quite the sight. This image, of a single salmon just recently passed, possibly too tired to go on or after its spawn, I felt had its own beauty although the fish has now left this world.
